So stellt subjektives Wohlbefinden in der Schule einen Wert an sich sowie eine kognitive und emotionale Grundlage für erfolgreiches Lernen und den Umgang mit schulischen Herausforderungen dar. Daher werden in diesem Projekt die subjektive Wahrnehmung der Schülerinnen und Schüler in den Mittelpunkt gerückt. Im Zentrum steht das Wohlbefinden in der Schule. DescriptionIn der öffentlichen Diskussion wird die Bedeutung der Religiosität von zugewanderten Geflüchteten zugleich über- und unterschätzt. Sie wird überschätzt als angstbesetztes Kernmerkmal, insbesondere wenn es sich um Muslime handelt, und unterschätzt in ihrer möglichen lebens- und integrationsfördernden Funktion. Es fehlt bislang an empirischer Forschung, um die tatsächliche (ambivalente) Rolle der Religiosität von Geflüchteten sowie deren Entwicklung bzw. Veränderung im Lauf ihres Lebens in Deutschland besser einschätzen zu können. Mit einem Fokus auf Jugendliche (von 16-24 Jahren) aus drei exemplarischen Hauptherkunftsländern soll dieses Forschungsdefizit durch eine empirisch-quantitative explorative Längsschnittstudie mit N(t1)=480 über drei Messzeitpunkte (mit jeweils 6 Monaten Abstand über die ersten ein bis zwei Jahre nach Ankunft in Deutschland) hinweg bearbeitet werden. Zentrale Konstrukte sind die Religiosität und die Lebensbewältigung, wobei zwei ihrer Subdimensionen im Abgleich mit Aspekten der Sozialintegration (nach Esser) konzeptualisiert werden. Gefragt wird nach den Wechselbeziehungen zwischen Religiosität und Lebensbewältigung im Zeitverlauf. Wir erwarten, dass die Ergebnisse der Studie Hinweise geben, inwiefern die Religiosität geflüchteter Migrant*innen in Betreuungs-, Bildungs- und Erziehungsprozessen sowie in der Gestaltung politischer, administrativer und organisatorischer Rahmenbedingungen gefördert oder präventiv bzw. interventiv bearbeitet werden sollte.

DescriptionDer Erwerb der Sprache des Aufnahmelandes ist ausschlaggebend für den Bildungserfolg von Kindern und Jugendlichen mit Migrationshintergrund. Dieser zentrale Befund aus der bisherigen Forschung zu ethnischen Bildungsungleichheiten konnte in aktuellen Studien ebenfalls für die Bildungsintegration schutzsuchender Kinder und Jugendlicher festgestellt werden. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden die Bestimmungsfaktoren für einen möglichst schnellen und reibungslosen Spracherwerb allgemein, sowie auch Überlegungen zu spezifischen Besonderheiten bei Geflüchteten diskutiert. In dem vorliegenden Forschungsvorhaben gehen wir der Frage nach, ob sich die bisherigen Erkenntnisse in vergleichbarer Weise auch auf die Situation von geflüchteten Kindern im Vorschulalter übertragen lassen. Dabei werden zwei Zielsetzungen verfolgt: Zunächst sollen die entscheidenden Randbedingungen des Spracherwerbs von schutzsuchenden Kindern allgemein bestimmt werden. Weiterhin soll speziell aber auch die (relative) Bedeutung einer institutionellen Förderung in Kindertagesstätten und zusätzlichen Sprachkursen untersucht werden.

DescriptionThe educational integration of refugee students is one of the most urgent questions of education policy. In the Junior Research Group "Educational integration of refugee children and youth in Germany (EDIREG)", we want to study the educational situation of refugee children and young people in the German education system. We investigate whether and how educational success succeeds at the various stages or critical transitions of the educational career - primary school, secondary school, and vocational training - and where there are potential hurdles. Regional and institutional differences in the educational integration of refugee children and young people are the focus of the research.
